Stay Hungry Stay Foolish - review

Finally managed to read the book by Rashmi Bansal, having bought it a month ago.

A nice easy read, catering to the youth, motivating them to take risks, not travel the trodden path.

For me there was an element of involvement, having known some of the entrepreneurs featured therein.

Having said that, I feel the following points may need corrective action in Rashmi’s future books -

Bit of more professional editing, spell check, less of Hinglish which in a article or blog is great to connect with, but a bit of dampener in a book.

The take away at the end of each section are pretty good, sometimes bit of IIT/IIM coming through. Personally would have liked a common one at the end.

Reading it, knowing them & others, experienced some of it myself have the following common takeaways -

• An IIT/IIM provides a job security normally not available to others.
• Most of the featured entrepreneurs had spouse who were batch mates & even when not, held a job to keep home fires burning, removing the worry.
• The network that IIT/IIM offers (not that everybody is able to exploit it)provides a good parachute.
• Practically nobody has done an IIT & IIM with the express purpose of turning entrepreneur, it happens on the way.

It shall be interesting to do a similar study with Non IIT/IIM but just plain graduates, which I understand Rashmi has promised to soon.
