MRP – My Regular Place and not Maximum Retail Price as we discover.

Rarely have I been this side of the town, in the last decade, but meeting a friend, and looking at half way decided to check this out.

It was a wednesday, booked a table via Zomato and landed up a bit late, thanks to the eternal mumbai traffic, however had confirmed to them via phone so no worries. Quite efficient.

A large space and empty at around 8 -8.15 pm. Selected a table in the corner, where the music was low. A vast menu for drinks and food; with the special offerings right in front. They have the basic IMFL offerings – more pegs you order the cheaper it is – some of it can be ordered by a bottle also.

Whilst waiting for the other to join, two of us decided to try a Margarita (my personal test at every place which claims to have good cocktails or is proud of their barman) It was barely OK. needed more tequila and mixed well.

Three of us and decided to go for the bottle – Oops No Old Monk available, Capt Morgan not available by bottle only pegs so went with that. Ordered the dicounted 9 30ml pegs. And then the food. Honestly, nothing that would strike a fancy, the same stuff every pub seems to be selling. But quick service the first round.

Honey Chilly fries – perfect to go with the drinks

Sriracha Nachos – again a perfect fit to go with drinks.

And then the service dropped as tables started filling up – around 9.30 pm and music started becoming louder.

But guess the booze and old friends meeting kept us happy. Ordered and got the 2nd round with a lot of waving of hands – like the umpire of gully cricket or wannabe traffic cop.

Tried the threaded cottage cheese and vegetable tempura – both were quite good. And whilst this was being served with the drinks, it was suddenly 11.30 pm and soft music with nearly empty place 🙂

The last round for the road along with the food – which did not consist of mains.

So partook veg and non veg bao which were quite filling and worth it.

Finally polishing it off with Jenga Tower – the brownie was like a block 🙁

Do not go expecting authentic, deconstructed, hep, fusion and all that in food. But overall a good evening to spend with friends.
