My daughter an ardent student of Shiamak Davar for the last couple of years was performing for the summer funk on May 29, 2008 at Shanmukhananda Hall.

For once there was light traffic, that enabled us to reach on time. The ushers were helpful, tickets numbered & crowd well mannered compared to last year.

The auditorium was completely packed & the show began.

The main reason that I attend Shiamak’s shows are – My daughter performs; I love the tiny tots dancing without a care; I feel jealous of the elders who love to dance AND ABOVE ALL love the challenged team do the dance before the interval.

Everything was similar, you do not see variation in any of his shows. Nothing really unique, the same shiny dresses, similar sounding songs, the same dance styles – Come on my friend do something new for the amateurs also!!

Shiamak did his own – Ghai; Hitchkok entry time & again……

There is no doubt that he has a team that does prepare better, the students are not allowed to crowd the auditorium but sent to the 2nd floor to watch, photographs are not allowed AND EVERTHING IS CHARGED.

Good but the old VFM is missing…….looks & acts more commercial.

Whilst these are my personal observations, there is no doubt about him & his team’s ability to popularize Dance……

Keep the work going!
