The diet seems extreme, would say that it would be more beneficial to first start with a nice heavy breakfast, and burn it over the day.
With regards to exercise, would be great if you could change your transport routine, say shift from the car, to cycle and public transport like the train, that will ensure more continuity.
Once your routine sets in, increase your metabolism through extreme workouts such as Cross fit training.
