As mentioned elsewhere, I am not a hardwired Starbucks fan, though I think the food served there is excellent.

Yesterday, rushing between meetings, needing to grab a bite, no raasta sandwich walas, decided to be adventurous and entered Starbucks BKC; and was almost blown back by the shout ‘Welcome to Starbucks’. Gathered courage and reached the counter; having learnt from previous experiences ordered ‘Cold coffee – strong, no sugar’ The lad, smiled and ran past his script, trying to upsell but Hum bhi salesman hai yaar. Ordered a chicken kebab panini – well toasted amongst the din of welcome, every time the door opened.

Waited for a while to collect it – tray was ready, though there was a bit of fumbling when asked for mustard, silver – where the fork is of plastic, probably to avoid hijacking the outlet. Found a quiet corner, given the fact, it is respectably large and there was a lunch crowd that was thinning out.

Rested my feet, cut the panini, first bite to realise it was ‘Nuked’ not toasted. The panini was ok, with 6 pcs of small chicken and more onions and capsicum then I would have liked. Took a sip to realise that it was a dash of coffee in lots of Sugar, but at least it was chilled. The hurry worked in their favour, quickly finished and left, taking a detour to tell the counter about it. Received a “Sorry Sir”. The washrooms were under maintenance, which seems quite common these days and particularly during peak hours.

The layout, location would definitely work for me, and maybe train them to make my coffee the way I like it.
