Serafina, Lower Parel had been close to our office and a couple of pizza visits had been made and then there was this menu revamp, which I was invited to, but our office had shifted and hence could not try it out.
A year later, recently I was asked to host a table to try out the old an new; and fortunately they were ok with the time of early dinner. So off we went – two non vegetarians, one vegetarian and me who would try both 🙂
There was an order of Bellini and bloody Mary and mojito – all quite good. I was convinced in to trying a white wine Sangria followed by a red wine Sangria – found both quite delicious, and one of the few places that brought chilled red wine Sangria. They apparently use house wines.
We started with the bread basket which was good, and Calamari which was very good and was polished off in double quick time.
This was followed up with:
Tomato & Bocconicini – fresh italian mozzarella served with sliced plum tomatoes – excellent and must have.
Tartufo Nero aka Truffle Pizza – Robiola, Fontina & Truffle cheese, Truffle oil and sliced black truffle – was excellent and so good that we ordered it again.
Risotto Pepperonata which was pretty decent, but being fair, I am not a risotto lover so based on others choice.
Lamb chops that were apparently superb. The meat came off the bone and I did have some of it.
Crespelle di Sofia – home made crepes stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach topped with tomato sauce, basil & parmigiano which was quite good, the cheese and spinach give a nice taste.
Pizza Bianca – baby argula shared parmigiano – which was quite good.
This was followed by their excellent desserts:
Torta di ciccolato which was excellent and a must try for lovers of chocolate;
Apple crumble cake was quite good as was Panna Cota.
Must Have: Mojito, White wine Sangria, Calamari, Tartufo Nero, Torta di ciccolato.
Disclaimer: This was a hosting invite. However, a repeat visit on Sunday for their brunch confirmed the food quality and value.
